 ORCHARD CENTER SCHOOL SUPPLY LISTS

*Please DO NOT send your child to school with a pencil sharpener.  They are unnessesary, and they often create many little messes.  They can also pose a hazard, as a the razor blade in the sharpener can easily be removed. 

** Please: NO WHEELED BACKPACKS.  Our storage space is limited, and they do not fit in our lockers/ cubbies.

 

Kindergarten

PLEASE DO NOT LABEL ITEM'S WITH YOUR CHILD'S NAME

For this age group, the children sit at tables and at centers, working and learning togehter.  As the Kindergarten students participate in a community setting, they learn cooperation and sharing skills.   Please DO NOT LABEL materials with your child's name, as they will be used by all of the children in the classroom.   Thank you for your support in your child's learning.

3    packages glue sticks

1    child's pair of scissors (Fiskars preferred)

1    box of washable markers

1    package No. 2 pencils

1    box crayons

1    large pink pearl eraser

1   4 oz. bottle of glue (Elmer's washable school glue preferred)

1    zippered* backpack or school bag that is:

• labeled with your child's name
• large enough to hold a big library book

     *Zippered bags are preferred because snaps, drawstrings, and clasps are more difficult for this age group to manage.

Optional Items:

1   set colored pencils

1   set watercolor paints

1   bottle hand sanitizer (like Purell)

 

1st Grade

1   backpack that:

•  is labeled with your child's name
•  is big enough to hold a large library book and folders containing homework, school notices, etc. 
•  DOES NOT HAVE WHEELS! (PLEASE!)

1   plastic school box                                                                                                                                                                                            1 1   bottle white Elmer's glue (6 or 8 oz)

1   box wide colored dry erase markers - low odor

1   box crayons (no more than 24 to box)

1   box colored pencils

1   pair Fiskars brand scissors

1   wooden ruler showing both inches and centimeters

2    boxes washable markers (1 large size, 1 thin size)

1-2 boxes of crackers to share at snack time

Optional items:

2nd Grade

1   box low-odor whiteboard markers*

*These items will be pooled together and used as needed by the whole class.  Please do NOT write your child's name on them.

3rd Grade

1   backpack that:

• is labeled with your child's name
• is big enough to hold library books, school work, and folders containing school notices, homework, etc.

1   wide-ruled lined notebook filler paper

1   box #2 pencils

1   eraser-RECTANGULAR SOFT 1" X 2"

1   bottle Elmer's glue (4 oz )     

1   pair of scissors (Fiskars)

1   box Crayons (16 or more) 

1   box Colored pencils

1   pencil box or container (small)
